Dr Billy Garvey
Billy has trained as a paediatric specialist doctor in Queensland and Victoria and has over 15 years’ experience working with children. He is currently the Senior Fellow for the Centre of Community Child Health at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
He provides formal teaching for medical students and paediatric trainees as a Clinical Teaching Fellow for the University of Melbourne and is an expert reviewer for the Raising Children Network. He also contributes to the Royal Children’s Hospital Clinical Practice Guidelines. He holds advocacy and research roles in government and not-for-profit organisations at a local, state and national level.
Billy enjoys working with families to optimise the health, development and well-being of their child. He is particularly interested in helping families who have concerns about their child’s development, behaviour, emotions and learning.
Billy works collaboratively with families, educators and other clinicians to understand the child as an individual, to find their best self to achieve their full potential.
